Glen Huon Primary School offers students the opportunity to learn and grow as part of a small and welcoming school community. Our students flourish in an environment and school culture which fosters connectedness and a strong sense of belonging. Children are celebrated and cherished for their individual strengths, interests and achievements. They are encouraged to develop skills of creative and critical thinking, initiative and leadership and resilience.
Our school grounds provide a range of play spaces including the unique experience of a bush playground. This provides students with the rich opportunity to explore, investigate and construct play spaces using natural materials.
Glen Huon Primary School also offers a diverse program for children aged Birth-4 years and their families, called ‘Smarties’. This program is completely free and runs from 9:00am-11:00am every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. On Wednesdays we offer an open playgroup held in the Kindergarten room. Thursday mornings we offer Bush Playgroup which is nature-based learning and exploration in our wonderful bush space. Finally, on Friday the focus is on Gross Motor activities and Story time in the Kindergarten space. Each of these three days offers a unique and engaging opportunity for children to participate in a range of experiences and for parents and carers to connect with each other.
Our new purpose-built Kindergarten building hosts a wonderful open space which connects the indoors to the outdoors.
We offer a range of extracurricular programs across areas of the school including Music, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Japanese and Robotics. This allows students to develop a broad range of skills and expand upon their well-rounded growth and development.
Glen Huon Primary School has a long and proud history within our community and together with our families, we strive to support each child to reach their highest potential.
